Hi there! Its Andy coming atcha with a fun hybrid take on the his and hers kit combination. Almost all of my scrapping, journaling, etc. is in the 9 pocket format. Kind of like that other kind of pocket scrapping, but it’s my own take on it, and in the end it costs me less than a dollar per layout.
There’s this huge trend popping up about Pocket Letter Pals, where people exchange letters in the 9 pocket format. This just reinforces my 9 Pocket, 3 ring binder idea. It’s clean, neat, and you can tell a cohesive story with your photos. Let’s take a look at how I made my page!
Well, I see now that you can't read the text on the screen shot. Oh well. It just says that I start by opening a new 8.5 x 11 document and setting guides to divide the page into 9 rectangles, 2.5 x 3.5.
In case you can't read the text, it says that next I add my photos, and crop them along the guides to make them fit.
Next, I start making my layout! Yay! The fun part! As far as making digital Project Life cards fit, 3x4 cards squeeze down to 2.5x3.5 perfectly. It's just a half inch smaller on both sides. The 4x6 cards do great positioned across two pockets.
Then I just scrap like normal! You can either do it in a pocket style, or you can just make a layout and then cut it apart, and see how it looks in the pockets. Do whatever you like! It's fun!
And here's my finished layout. I think it's pretty cute, if I do say so myself!
Next, I trim off the edges and start cutting on the lines to make 9 cards that are 2.5x3.5.
I trim off the edges and try to make them nice and clean.
Then I put the pictures in the pockets!
And then here it is! All finished and in my binder! One of the awesome things about pockets is that you can put your next layout in behind these pictures, which ends up being the next page. I also put things in them like ticket stubs, etc.
Well, thanks for reading along with me! I hope you got some inspiration from this, and maybe learned from it. Happy Scrapping!
xoxo,
Andy
